VBAS is offering our Introduction to Deep Sky Astrophotography (AP 101) course beginning Feb 26th. This 6-week course focuses on data acquisition of deep sky objects such as the ones pictured here. Students learn how to select the equipment they will need to take long exposure frames for capturing detail in faint deep sky objects. Students will learn how to develop and execute a successful imaging plan. Concepts such as how to polar align the telescope, connect gear, focus the telescope, configure the camera, and calibration frames are discussed. Students get hands-on experience during a “night under the stars” session guided by the instructor. No prior experience in astronomy is necessary.
The cost is $25 for VBAS members and $30 for non-members. Register Here
