Huntsville Alabama Observing RecommendationsThursday Evening, March 11th: Forecast doesn't look that good for observing, but if possible after Sunset around 5:50 pm, look for Venus in the West until it sets around 6:56 pm. Mars will have already risen in the East before Sunset and should be directly overhead around 9 pm. Saturn will rise around 6:33 pm in the East and will be up until 6:49 am. Friday Morning, March 12th: For you late night/early morning astronomers, Saturn will be up until around 6:49 am. The Moon will rise around 4:12 am followed by Jupiter at 5:42 am. Mercury and the Sun will rise in the East around 6:03 am. If you would like to learn more about planets & constellations, we hope that you will join us at our Saturday night planetarium programs at 7:30 pm. Weather permitting, we'll have a star party afterwards around 8:30 pm and during this time of year, it is best to plan to arrive at our facilities around 7 pm due to limited seating. |
